About G & G

At Guidance & Growth Psychotherapy Services, LLC, we believe that healing happens when the mind and body are cared for together. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can show up exactly as you are and begin exploring what it means to live a more balanced, authentic life. We take a holistic and compassionate approach, honoring your unique story, strengths, and identity. Together, we’ll work to unlearn old patterns, build new skills, and move toward the version of yourself that feels most true and grounded.

Here you won’t find any overstimulating ads, AI generated responses, or big therapy tech presence. What you will find is someone local, real, and human that you can find that felt connection with that we are all craving so desperately.

At G & G, we celebrate diversity, connection, and growth—and we’re here to walk beside you as you find your peace.

The Woman Behind G&G

I’m a Licensed Independent Social Worker with experience supporting teens and adults (16+) through challenges like depression, anxiety, complex and developmental/attachment trauma, chronic stress (particularly among healthcare workers and college students), identity exploration and affirmation, and season of life transitions.

I provide gender-affirming, culturally mindful, and anti-oppressive care. I am competent in and follow WPATH Standards of Care and offering Gender Confirmation Treatment Support Letters for clients in consistent therapy with me. My integrative approach blends mindfulness, somatic experiencing, internal family systems, DBT, ACT, schema therapy, and trauma-informed care, helping clients build true self-awareness, emotional regulation at the neurobiological level, and a deeper overall connection with themselves.

Rooted in Appalachian culture, I hold a deep appreciation for my culture and its unique authenticity, grit, and resourcefulness we are known for. These values shape both my personal life and therapeutic approach, reminding me of the strength that comes from honoring where we come from. I truly believe that we are all doing our best with what we know and in my clinical work I thrive on being able to guide others along the process of learning and embracing change in order to feel more whole and well.

“You’re doing better than you think.” -Kelsi Amerine, MSSW, LISW

Pictured here is my beloved Basset Hound, Sonny — my soul’s best friend and companion for 13 wonderful years. He brought endless joy, warmth, and grounding to my life.

Outside The Office

Outside the therapy room, you’ll often find me in a cozy coffee shop, researching my next immersive travel plan, tending to my plants, exploring nature, or diving into a true crime or mystery novel. My husband and I keep honey bees as a fun horticultural hobby, and the middle photo below captures our very first honey harvest in 2023 — a sweet milestone! I am the most at peace in my vegetable garden, toes in the creek, and existing in the rhythm of nature at home or in foreign lands. I love and highly value travel — discovering new places, cultures, and perspectives is one of the most grounding and inspiring parts of my life. Exploring the world allows me to continually learn, connect with others and collective humanity, and bring fresh insight and empathy into my work. I’m also forever grateful for the years shared with my beloved 13-year-old Basset Hound, Sonny, who brought endless joy and calm to my world.

These photos capture some of the moments that inspire and ground me — from releasing a baby sea turtle with a nonprofit organization in Costa Rica, to discovering vibrant street art in Glasgow, Scotland. On the left, you’ll see a photo of fresh vegetables and dried flowers that I saved the seeds from for the next blooming season. Sustainability, regeneration, and intentional consumption are actions I diligently prioritize in my own daily living. I will always be the one asking questions and seeking out learning opportunities. I find so much meaning in staying curious, connected, and close to nature.
